If you want to work your ab muscles, the best way is to not isolate them, but to run. Breathe in through your nose, out through and you’ll really feel a burn in your ab muscles. They will be sore the next day.

You shouldn’t worry as much about what exercises you do as much as you should worry about what you’re eating.
Nutrition is about 80% of the battle. 6 pack abs is STRICTLY only a factor of how much body fat percentage you have.
Eat frequent meals (5-6 times a day), protein with every meal, slow digesting carbs except for right after you workout, and drink only water.
Do that and you’ll be on your way. There are a lot of other things you can do but I don’t want to get too complicated.
Also, don’t run - it’s a waste of time. Focus on doing high intensity interval training. It’s been tested time and time again as a MUCH better way to exercise than boring old cardio.
