ab workout
golfdude asked:

I think the best way to get any kind of muscles to develop is by muscles confusion. Any1 got ideas on a ab confusion workout routine. I know that you can’t get abs by workout alone and involves diet.
Also would running a mile a day help me take stubborn fat off my stomach.

Just by what I see in the weight room, those who lift weights burn more fat and have a more sculpted body than those who do exclusively cardio, so I would certainly suggest lifting regularly. Fat comes off the last place you put it on, not where you lift the most, which simply tones and bulks it.

On to the ab workout. I vary my ab routine nightly, seven days a week. I do a random combination of three or more of the following:

    1. the time-worn crunch
    2. leg lifts
    3. bicycle crunch
    4. planks
    5. rotating crunch with legs up
-I use my bed, I place my calves flat upon my bed, knees slightly spread, back on the ground, and as fast as I can I go down til my head taps the ground then twist up across my body until my elbow, with my palm flat on the side of my head, hits my knee. Repeat 3-4 minutes or until failure/cramps, 3 sets.
    6. Double crunch
-Standard crunch, but at the same time you bring your shoulderblades off the ground also pull your hips and tailbone off the ground, leaving you upon the small of your back. Works both lower and upper abs.
    7. leg raised scissor kick
    8. hip raises
-crunch position, but simply raise your hips into the air rather than your shoulderblades
    9. A creation of my own, which i find to be very effective: the double side leg raise plus hip raise
-lay flat on your back, with your hands palms-down under your glutes or just to your side, similar to leg raises. Then, from the center point of your legs raised steadily to about six inches off the ground, using only your abs pull your legs up and to your left, diagonal to your body. Return to center position. Repeat, but with your legs twisting to the right. Return to center. Pull your knees up to wehre your shins are paralell to your body and drive up with your hips in a traditional his raise motion. Smoothly return to center. That is one repetition. Do three sets of ten reps for what I have found to be the most intense full-ab workout i have yet come across.

A workout DVD by choreographer, Shaun T. It will take time, like about ten weeks to develop full grown six pack abs. The good thing is that its fun. It increases not only abs, but dance skills, (if you’re white) So you won’t get tired of doing it. You should really try it.
