columb asked:
I’m 17, 5′11” and 170 lbs. I’m beginning to work out and my plan is to get a six pack, but I really don’t know where to start. I’ve read up and done my research but I’m not sure as to how exactly to get it. What kind of diet do I go on? What sort of workout routines do I use? How long? Many say to do cardio to get rid of the fat first but can I do the cardio and work on my abs at the same time? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

There is a exercise machine at the gym that works your abs. Try that. It worked for me.

Crunches and sit ups. Reduce the carb intake and increase water consumption. Your size measna at least 8 glasses a day. With heavy workouts increase that by at least 50%.

dairy makes you skin thick, everybody has a 6 pack even a fat person. But you need thin skin to see it. cut out dairy, milk ect. lower you body fat, work out. for real no cheese. drink alot of warter.

You can plan to both lose fat and develop abs in the same time. However, I don’t really know if some kind of machine does both.
I’d suggest you to do cardio first, and to jog on a regular basis.
Also, sit-ups are usually the main daily excercise recommanded for a six-pack.

Google Clarence Bass. He has some books called ripped. He has a lot of scientific data to back up his books. He also has plenty of free info on his web site. I got down to 4.2% bodyfat at 181 pounds with the help of these books. You need to be below 10% before your abs start to show. 6% will be shredded. Proper diet, resistance and cardio. Lots of crunches are worthless without cardio to burn fat that covers them,Lifting weights adds muscle which in turn burns more fat. There is no such thing as spot reduction. Work your body to see your abs

here the thing: crunches, lots of crunches. on the nautilus, on the incline bench, on your knees with a pull-down weight, on your back with a free-weight plate (held to your chest). do 25 of each of those every day. double that number asap. before very long you will have abs of steel.
as for diet, you don’t sound fat, and the above routine will tighten you up anyway. what to eat? just eat smart. lay off the junk. do not eat fast food. nutritional balance is everything. stay away from fad diets. Atkins diet is not for you. you need carbs to burn during work out. that said, don’t go crazy on carbs either. good luck with this.
